Abstract

Dengan fokus pada dimensi the big five personality, penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengungkap bagaimana karakteristik kepribadian seseorang dapat mempengaruhi prestasi akademik mereka, melalui peran penting motivasi sebagai variabel mediasi. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dari mahasiswa Fakultas Bisnis dan Ekonomika Universitas Islam Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS- SEM) dengan bantuan software SmartPLS v4.0. Setelah melakukan penelitian penulis berkesimpulan bahwa dari keseluruhan dimensi the big five personality, hanya dimensi kepribadian extraversion, dan conscientiousness yang memberikan pengaruh terhadap prestasi akademik. Selanjutnya, hanya kepribadian extraversion, agreeableness, dan conscientiousness yang berpengaruh terhadap motivasi serta dimensi kepribadian tersebut juga yang menunjukan bahwa motivasi dapat menjadi variabel mediasi antara hubungan the big five personality dengan prestasi akademik.
